Flat Glass Merchants are now the proud owners of a HTL 2142 Tamglass Toughening Furnace. The plant is 2 years old and is capable of toughening glass from 4mm-19mm with a maximum bed load of 4200 x 2100.
As you can see from our picture gallery the process of Toughening;
arrissing Machine
Our arrissing machine is the first preparation process before toughening. As you can see the edges are taken off the glass with a twin belt, in order to seal the edges of the glass before toughening.
Washing Machine
After arrissing the glass passes onto the washing machine and the tested for scratching before going to the Toughening Plant
Harp Racks
The Glass is then placed in our harp racks in order of reference and customer.
This also helps the Toughening Plant operator to optimise the furnace better.
Bed Loading
The glass is placed on the bed in reference order to give
maximum optimisation.
Bed Offloading
The glass, still with reference number in tact,
is then placed back into harp racks for sorting. We then place
the glass onto stillages for loading, ready for delivery to
our customers.

Our fleet of custom built curtain sided lorry's are on hand to deliver your requirements.
